The Brooklyn Seltzer Museum is located at 474 Hemlock Street, Brooklyn, NY 11208. The museum celebrates the production of seltzer, the science of seltzer, its cultural importance, and the value of local, family-run businesses.
I was comissioned to write a four part mural to discuss selter's impact on our culture, its importance to health, the beverge indistry, comedy, and identity.
The mural was unveiled on April 27, 2024 and is described as:
A 24-foot-wide comic mural addressing the cultural history of seltzer. Produced with the Museum staff in collaboration with graduate students at Teachers College Columbia University, and created by artists from around the world, it is a fun self-guided tour (starring our very own mascots Spritz the Siphon and Lil Spritz) of the role seltzer has played promoting health, tasty treats, comedy, and personal identity.
